IHC fixes Aug 22 to hear Imran’s appeal

The Islamabad High Court on Saturday fixed Aug 22 for hearing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan's appeal against the sentence and request for release.

According to the next week's cause list issued by the IHC Registrar, the appeal against the conviction of PTI chairman in the Toshakhana (gift repository) case has been fixed for hearing on Aug 22. Apart from this, the former prime minister's request for suspension of sentence and release has also been scheduled for hearing on Aug 22.

IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri will hear the petitions.

Apart from this, the case of poor investigation by the police and appearing before the court without preparation has been fixed for hearing on Aug 24. The court has issued show-cause notices to SP and SDPO Industrial Area. On the court order, the SP Industrial Area had submitted the response to the show-cause notice, while the SDPO Industrial Area has not yet submitted the response.

Justice Jahangiri will hear the case on Aug 24.
