Journalists demand arrest of Jan Mehr’s killers

Outrage as slain senior journalist's killers still at large

In a strong display of solidarity, representatives from the Badin Press Club and Aiwan-e-Sahafat organised a protest rally denouncing the tragic killing of renowned journalist Jan Muhammad Mehr in Sukkur.

The participants called for the immediate arrest of killers who can be identified and those behind this heinous act.

The protestors marched from the Badin Press Club to Aiwan-e-Sahafat, voicing their outrage over the killing of the journalist.

The streets echoed with slogans condemning the people behind silencing the voice of journalists as in the case of Jan Muhammad Mehr. The protesters wore black bands on their arms and carried banners and placards.

Well-known figure of the district Haji Khalid Mahmood, Badin Press Club President Shaukat Memon, Aiwan-e-Sahafat President Lala Haroon Gopang, and notable personalities addressed the participants of the march.

They expressed concern on the life threats the journalists face and urged for heightened security measures.
