Senior Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) leader, Kanwar Naveed Jameel, breathed his last in Karachi on Thursday after brief illness. He suffered a brain haemorrhage 18 months ago and was in a coma since then.

Jameel held a significant role within the MQM and was an integral part of party leadership. He achieved election victories to the National Assembly in 1999 and 2015, as well as to PS-127 in 2002 and 2018. In 2005, he assumed the charge as Nazim of Hyderabad. Born on March 15, 1964, in Hyderabad, he pursued his LLB from Jinnah Law College and obtained a BSc degree from Government Degree College. He leaves behind wife and two sons to mourn his demise.
