A Grade 18 lecturer at Khyber Medical University (KMU) in Peshawar has been dismissed following a verdict of guilt in a case of sexual harassment.

The institution’s anti-harassment committee remains proactive, promptly addressing complaints from staff and students across all levels, according to an official press release.

The university’s stance against misconduct is resolute, as evidenced by recent actions. A Grade 21 professor faced expulsion after being found guilty of plagiarism. Additionally, a class-IV employee was discharged from service for proven acts of corruption.

The Vice Chancellor of KMU, Professor Dr. Ziaul Haq, is dedicated to establishing a transparent and corruption-free environment within the university, the press release said.

KMU’s administration enforces a zero-tolerance policy against sexual harassment, plagiarism, and corruption, a commitment it rigorously upholds.

Professor Dr. Ziaul Haq emphasizes that the university’s anti-harassment committee functions transparently, promptly addressing received complaints. He underscores that any instance of sexual harassment has no place within the university’s constituent and affiliated institutes, regardless of circumstances.

He said that within a few days, a grade 21 professor was found guilty of plagiarism, a grade 18 lecturer was accused of sexual harassment, and a class IV employee was removed from service for financial embezzlement.
