Another child maid tortured in capital

Tarnol police arrested the suspect after she was accused of torturing the child worker she had employed

ISLAMABAD:

An Islamabad court on Wednesday sent an accused woman named Zaitoon Bibi, also known as Simra, to Adiala Jail on 14-day judicial remand in connection with the alleged torture of a 13-year-old domestic worker.

Tarnol police had arrested the accused after she was accused of torturing the child worker she had employed.

She was presented before Judicial Magistrate Khalid Hussain, who turned down the police’s plea to get physical remand of the accused.

The case comes amid nationwide attention on the case of Rizwana, a teenage worker employed at the house of a civil judge in Islamabad, who was brutally tortured.
