Mirza Gohar Rasheed recently appeared as a guest on one of the episodes of Momin Saqib’s talk show ‘Had Kar Di’ in which he talked about the scarring on his face and why he refuses to get rid of them.
During his conversation with Momin, Gohar shared that he often receives messages from doctors on Instagram asking him why he doesn’t treat the scars on his face and recommending different treatments to him.
“Yeh jo meray chehray par marks hain theek hai? Inhon nay bohat saray mujhay doctors nay kaha balkay mujhay messages bhi aatay hain Instagram waghera pey kay aap yeh theek kyun nahi kara letay? Aap yeh treatment kara lain aap woh treatment kara lain (These marks that I have on my face, yeah? A lot of doctors have said to me…actually, I get messages from them on Instagram and other social media platforms and they ask me why don’t get them fixed. And they tell me to get this treatment or that treatment)," the actor commented.
Delving into the reason why he has never considered any cosmetic procedures for treating the marks on his face, Gohar told the host and the audience that he once got a direct message from a man on Facebook whose story made him realise why it was important for him to embrace his appearance for what it is.
The actor revealed that the man had messaged him saying that he also had scars on his face and had struggled with low self-confidence because of it. However, after seeing Gohar embrace his scarred face and attain success without having to change his appearance, he felt imbued with a renewed confidence that he too could succeed in life.
He felt like he could relate to the actor due to their similar skin conditions and looking at his example, he felt hopeful that he could also make something of himself.
Gohar ended this anecdote by sharing a valuable piece of advice with the audience and his fans about how one should never let someone else define their worth and that every person is unique in their own way. “Aapnay kisi ko yeh ijazat nahi deni kay woh aap ko define kar sakay. Jo aap hain woh koi aur nahin hai (You should never give anyone permission to define you. You are your own unique person).”
