ISPR says weapons, ammunition and explosives including a suicide vest recovered from terrorists

BAJAUR:

One Pakistan Army soldier was martyred and four terrorists were killed during an exchange of fire in Khyber-Paktunkhwa (K-P)'s Bajaur District, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.

The military’s media wing said that the army conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Charmang, Bajaur District on the reported presence of terrorists.

The martyred soldier was identified as Sepoy Muhammad Shoaib, 24, a resident of District Kohat.

“During the conduct of the operation, intense fire exchange occurred between security forces and terrorists, adding that four terrorists were killed while one terrorist was apprehended,” said the military.

The ISPR added that “weapons, ammunition and explosives, including a suicide vest, were recovered from the terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces and killing of innocent citizens, especially suicide blasts".

“Sanitisation of the area is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area. Security forces of Pakistan remain determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from Pakistan,” added the ISPR.

A day earlier, at least two terrorists were killed and another sustained injuries in an intelligence-based operation launched by the security forces against miscreants in Mazaband Range area of Balochistan’s Kech district on August 10-11, the military said.

According to the ISPR, a large cache of arms and ammunition was recovered in the operation. The killed terrorists were involved in the targeting of innocent civilians and law enforcement agencies, the military’s media wing said.
