People change: Humaima Malick apologises to Mohsin Abbas Haider

Actor appeared as a guest on the latter’s talk show

In the most recent episode of Mohsin Abbas Haider’s talk show Public Demand, Humaima Malick appeared as a guest and took the opportunity to thank the host for having her. She also indirectly apologised to him for the harsh words she had used against him in earlier.

Although Humaima did not explain what particular instance she was referring to, viewers safely assumed that she was alluding to the time when she had sided with the actor and television host’s ex-wife Fatima Sohail for accusing him of domestic violence.

Mainay agar kabhi zindagi main aapkay liye kuch aisa kaha ho tou main uskay liye on-screen bolna chahti hoon kay waqt badltay hai, log badltay hain, andaaz-beyaan badal jatay hain (If I have ever in my life said anything about you, I would like to say on-screen that times change, people change, and the way they express themselves also changes),” said Humaima while embracing Mohsin.

Back in 2019, the former Mazaaq Raat performer was accused of having an extra marital affair by his then wife, Fatima Sohail, and further called out for beating her when she caught him red-handed. The alleged incident of domestic violence took place in 2018 when Fatima was still pregnant with his child.

When the allegations were made public, many celebrities criticised Mohsin for his behaviour. Among them were Humaima and her sister Dua. At the time, Humaima had taken to Twitter to express her support for Fatima and called out Mohsin: “Beating your wife everyday even when she had your baby in her stomach…We have seen the pictures and seen her pain…Now, coming out in public and saying she is lying…Shame on you, Mohsin!”.

Despite the backlash from peers and other personalities in the Pakistani showbiz, Mohsin did not have to face any real repercussions for his alleged actions. Since the allegations came out, he has gone on to star in a handful of Pakistani serials and has also been hosting his talk show Public Demand on the relatively new television channel Public News.

Mohsin and Fatima split up in the aftermath of the affair and the domestic abuse that Fatima allegedly endured in their marriage. They share a son.
