The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has dismissed the case filed for making an obscene photoshoot in front of Quaide- Azam's portrait on the Islamabad Expressway and ordered the police to take action against the complainant for filing a fake case against the accused.
In his written order, IHC Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri directed the police officials to quash the case filed against Zulfiqar Sohail and submit a Qalandra [report under section 182 of the criminal procedure code] against complainant Rashid Malik in the relevant court within seven days.
The court also directed the magistrate concerned to make a decision within 30 days and submit the implementation report to the IHC’s Additional Registrar Judicial.
In the judgment, Justice Jahangiri remarked that the DSP legal and the investigating officer of the case confirmed that the nude photos did not go viral on social media.
The SSP asked the director of the Federal Investigation Agency’s Cyber Crime Wing for a report on the pictures uploaded on social media.
In response, the FIA sent a letter for details of Instagram accounts provided by the Islamabad Police but Instagram did not provide information on the absence of a mutual legal assistance agreement.
The complainant had registered a case at Koral police station on August 3, 2021.
