DUHS recognised globally for healthcare, research: Pechuho

'It ranks 96 in SDG 4 (health sector) and the university has also been included in QS Ranking 2023'

Sindh Minister of Health and Population Welfare Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho said that Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) excels in providing healthcare facilities and conducting medical research not only in Sindh and Pakistan but internationally.

Prof Muhammad Saeed Qureshi’s vision and dedication have played an important role in bringing the university forward.

She was addressing the ninth session of the Dow University Senate.

Presenting the report in the meeting, Vice Chancellor Professor Muhammad Saeed Qureshi said that Dow University plays a leading role in the development of clinical and health sciences with a focus on education and clinical services.

"Here, liver, kidney and bone marrow transplants are also being successfully done free of charge with the financial support of the Government of Sindh," he said.

Dow University’s position in international rankings is also rising rapidly, he said, adding that Dow University is the first public sector health sciences university which has been included in The Times Higher Education 2023 and Young University 2023 rankings.

The University is also achieving Sustainable Development Goals.

It's number is 96 in SDG 4 (health sector) while the university has also been included in QS Ranking 2023.
