PESHAWAR:

A joint delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has underscored the critical importance of upholding high-quality standards and ensuring the timely completion of projects under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cities Improvement Project (KPCIP).

Led by Senior Project Officer Umar Ali Shah and AIIB representative Ghufran Syed, the delegation conducted a comprehensive progress review meeting focused on the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) project on Monday.

The meeting saw each City Implementation Unit (CIU) providing a detailed update on the status of ongoing, proposed, and recommended projects.

Moreover, the Project Management Unit (PMU) team, under the guidance of the project director, offered insights into the technical, financial, administrative, and operational aspects of the projects being undertaken in the five division cities of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa—Peshawar, Mardan, Mingora, Kohat, and Abbottabad.

Consultants provided the delegation with updates on the progress of work for each project. Following the briefing, the senior project officer reiterated that there should be no compromise when it comes to the quality of work.
