Marvel fans can rejoice as the beloved Tom Hiddleston is all geared up to return as the charismatic antihero in Season 2 of the Disney+ original series, Loki. The official trailer for the new season promises more thrilling adventures, mayhem, and unexpected twists.
Variety reports that the upcoming season will pick up after the events of Avengers: Endgame, where Loki teams up with the Time Variance Authority to track down superhero variants causing chaos in different timelines of the multiverse. Alongside Hiddleston, Owen Wilson returns as Mobius M. Mobius.
The ensemble cast includes familiar faces like Eugene Cordero, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Tara Strong, and Rafael Casal. Excitingly, the series introduces Ke Huy Quan, known for his Oscar-winning role in Everything Everywhere All At Once, as a mysterious character working for the Time Variance Authority. Additionally, Game of Thrones actor Kate Dickie will be hopping aboard as a villain.
Loki Season 2 comprises six episodes, all written by Eric Martin. The series features directors, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, while Michael Waldron, the creator of the show, remains attached. The production also includes the return of executive producers Hiddleston, Michael Waldron, Victoria Alonso, Louis D’Esposito, and Kevin Feige.
Spoiler alert! For those fans who need a reminder, at the conclusion of Season 1, Hiddleston's character found himself in an unfamiliar reality following the disruption of the multiverse caused by the demise of He Who Remains, portrayed by Jonathan Majors. Additionally. Wilson's character has a significant shift in his arc, on account of him losing some of his memory in the riveting Season 1 finale.
Fans can mark their calendars as Loki Season 2 is set to premiere on Disney+ on October 6. The trailer promises a roller-coaster of excitement and surprises, making it a must-watch for Marvel enthusiasts worldwide.
