Sony is rolling out a beta software update today for PlayStation 5 with a variety of new features to the console.
With the latest upgrade, PS5 will now support Dolby Atmos-enabled audio devices. This way, PS5’s proprietary Tempest 3D AudioTech will be compatible with soundbars, home theatre systems, and TVs. Moreover, there is an increased M.2 SSD storage support up to 8TB.
The latest features also make it easy to add users to a closed party by just inviting them without automatically adding the player to the group or creating a new group.
Users can also now send open or closed-party invitations to groups instead of only individual players. In addition to that, players can now easily see which of their friends are in an activity they can join under the [Friends] tab.

A limited number of users will get emails today inviting them to the beta. These individuals will be testing the new features and providing their feedback to Sony before the updates are released for the wider audience later this year.
