The Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) has announced the inauguration of an ‘Ingenious PhD’ scheme aimed at promoting research on local challenges with financial support provided by industries.
Under the initiative, research topics will be selected based on their potential to directly benefit the nation, focusing on addressing critical problems whose solution is essential for achieving sustainable economic development.
Punjab Higher Education Commission Chairman Professor Shahid Munir unveiled the vision during an open house award ceremony held at the University of Central Punjab Faculty of Engineering.
He emphasised the need to establish a manufacturing-based economy and to nurture high intellectual capital, saying it would play a crucial role in strengthening the country's economic foundation.
