CM urges upgrade in Sehat Card scheme

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Caretaker Chief Minister Muhammad Azam Khan has underscored the importance of the Sehat Card Plus Scheme in providing free and quality healthcare services to the poor people of the province.

During a review meeting held at the Chief Minister House in Peshawar, he stressed the need to run the Sehat Card scheme in a more organized manner to ensure its efficacy and significance in delivering healthcare to the public.

The meeting, attended by Provincial Caretaker Cabinet Members Barrister Feroz Jamal Shah Kakakhel, Himayat Ullah, and Dr. Riaz Anwar, Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, Principal Secretary to CM Amjad Ali Khan, Secretary Finance Ayaz Khan, CEO Sehat Card Dr. Riaz Tanoli, and other senior officials, discussed various steps taken in the health sector, with a particular focus on the Sehat Card Plus Scheme.

Chief Minister Azam Khan emphasized the need to address any weaknesses and deficiencies in the scheme’s process to make it more efficient and beneficial for the general public, especially for the poor.

He emphasized that the quality of healthcare services provided under the Sehat Card must not be compromised, as the government is investing significant resources to ensure the public’s well-being and satisfaction.

Furthermore, Azam Khan stressed the improvement of healthcare facilities in remote areas of the province. He urged authorities to equip local healthcare facilities adequately to ensure that people in far-flung regions have access to quality medical services without undue hardships.

Despite the caretaker government’s limited mandate and financial constraints, Chief Minister Azam Khan expressed his commitment to facilitate and provide relief to the public within the available resources.

He reiterated that the government would spare no effort to ensure that the Sehat Card Plus Scheme effectively serves its purpose of delivering accessible and quality healthcare to the citizens of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
