Burewala torture victims admitted to Mayo Hospital
Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman and IGP Usman Anwar, acting on the directives of caretaker CM Mohsin Naqvi, visited Mayo Hospital to meet the mother and daughter who had endured a dreadful act of violence in Burewala.
They inquired about the well-being of the mother and her daughter and assured them of justice and support.
During the visit, the chief secretary spoke with the injured woman, Lubna Shaheen, and empathised with the ordeal she and her children had endured.
He reassured them that the Punjab government would bear the expenses of their medical treatment and provide all possible resources for the rehabilitation and care of the children.
The IGP expressed that the culprits responsible for the violence against the children would not escape punishment, as they had committed a heinous crime against humanity.
They vowed to ensure justice for the oppressed woman and her children, emphasizing that no one would dare to perpetrate such cruelty again.
The CS and IGP sought details about the incident from the victim's mother, Lubna Shaheen. Her maternal uncle, Rana Tanveer, and aunt, Saima, disclosed that Lubna and her children had been subjected to repeated violent attacks by their addict father and grandfather.
The mother was bound while the children suffered brutal violence at their hands.
The father even used a knife to inflict severe harm on the minor daughter, Aimen, leaving one of her eyes completely damaged and the other partially affected.
