CHAK JHUMRA:

A young man allegedly committed suicide over some domestic dispute, police said.

In a separate incident, a young woman took an overdose of pills allegedly in an attempt to kill herself.

Police said Riaz, 34, a resident of Bhowana, had been reportedly running a business, but apparently there were some matters relating to his business which he had been worried about.

He had been so concerned that he couldn’t even find any peace at home, and his business troubles somehow vitiated his home’s atmosphere as well. He had started quarreling with his relations frequently.

Riaz had a nasty quarrel with his family the other day which upset him so much that he allegedly took an overdose.

When his condition started worsening, he was taken to the Allied Hospital in a critical condition.

The doctors tried to save his life by washing his stomach, but he could not survive.

In the other incident, a 22-year-old young woman allegedly attempted to commit suicide by taking an overdose.

She was immediately shifted to the hospital. It could not be known whether her condition was stable or critical.
