Helping a child may put you at risk, warns social media

Recently, many videos and messages have circulated on social media warning people against helping children who pretend to be lost and have an address on written on their arm or a piece of paper.

These children are employed by criminal gangs who lure unsuspecting people into dangerous situations. While helping a lost child may seem like a harmless and moral thing to do, everyone should be careful and avoid any potential risks.

People who offer assistance can be taken to remote locations where they might be attacked, robbed, etc. Anyone who is met with such a situation must avoid offering children their mobile devices, allowing them inside their homes, and instead remain in a public space.

People should avoid following instructions that appear suspicious and call the police right away. Everyone should exercise
caution and remain vigilant to protect themselves.
