TikTok users can now upload text-based posts with background music, visually similar to Instagram stories.
With a word limit of 1,000 characters, users can add a background colour, edit text style, and add music and stickers to the post. Other users can engage with these text-based posts by stitching, dueting, and commenting.
The introduction of this feature has added to the hype around text-based posts. With Instagram launching threads and Twitter adding text-based posts, social media platforms are trying to replace Twitter.

As per Tiktok, the new feature will give the creators another way to express themselves. In the blog post, the short video platform added, "With text posts, we're expanding the boundaries of content creation for everyone on TikTok, giving the written creativity we've seen in comments, captions, and videos a dedicated space to shine."
The option to opt for text-based posts comes when the user goes to the camera page of the app.
