Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Caretaker Chief Minister, Muhammad Azam Khan, took decisive action on Sunday, issuing strict directives to the relief department and district administrations to be on high alert and provide immediate assistance to the people affected by torrential rains and flash floods in the region.

Emphasizing the urgency of the situation, the chief minister directed relevant officials to promptly launch rescue and relief operations, ensuring the safety and well-being of the affected population.

He stressed the importance of providing immediate relief and support to those in distress, assuring that all necessary measures would be taken to ensure their safety and well-being during this challenging hour.

Furthermore, the chief minister pledged the full commitment of the caretaker provincial government in extending every possible assistance to those facing difficulties due to the natural calamity.

He assured the affected people that the government would stand by them throughout this difficult time and ensure that every possible help would be extended.

In response to the disaster, relief and rescue teams have been deployed to the affected areas to provide immediate aid and assess the extent of the damage caused by the heavy rains and floods.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) reported that at least four people lost their lives, and one person was injured in K-P due to the severe weather conditions.

The torrential rains and floods wreaked havoc across the province, causing partial damage to 67 houses and completely destroying seven houses. The districts of Lower Chitral and Upper Chitral were particularly affected, with 39 houses destroyed and 19 houses being partially damaged.
