When Akshay Kumar ‘jokingly’ accused Javed Sheikh of stealing a Cartier watch

Veteran actor recalled his experience of working with Bollywood bigwigs

Veteran actor Javed Sheikh, who has worked in several Bollywood films, recalled his memories working with industry bigwigs. Javed made a guest appearance on Momin Saqib's show Had Kardi and shared anecdotes about his experiences working alongside Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh.

The Na Maloom Afraad actor shed light on the friendly and mischievous sides of both actors, showcasing their down-to-earth nature and camaraderie. Recalling his time working with Akshay, Javed shared that the Singh is Kinng star once jokingly accused him of stealing while on set. Describing Akshay as the most playful person, the Wrong No. actor narrated how the Housefull star played a cheeky prank on him.

“I owned a Cartier gold and silver watch, which caught Akshay's attention,” he said, adding that Akshay once humorously pretended that the watch belonged to him. “He yelled to the spot boy and said, ‘I told you not to give my watch to Sheikh Saab!’” he said. “The whole set was in fits then.”

Other than that, Javed has also shared a smoke and cup of black coffee with the King of Bollywood on a non-smoking set. He revealed that he was offered “great protocol and an atmosphere where everything was meticulously organised” while on Shah Rukh’s set. However, he discovered that smoking was prohibited on set, which posed a challenge as he was a smoker himself.

When Javed saw Shah Rukh indulging in a cigarette along with his black coffee at his table, he mustered the courage to approach the megastar. He humbly expressed his desire to smoke and have black coffee on set, just like the Don actor did – and he agreed!

“Without any hesitation, he ordered the spot boys to set up a table right beside him for me to enjoy my smoking sessions while working,” he said. “It gave us a chance to bond even better.”

Javed worked in Om Shanti Om with Shah Rukh and Namaste London with Akshay before a ban was placed on Pakistani actors in 2016. He was last seen in the star-studded heist film Money Back Guarantee earlier this year alongside Mikaal Zulfiqar, Fawad Khan, Ayesha Omar and Wasim Akram.
