An anti-terrorism court (ATC) judge extended the judicial remand of several PTI lawmakers in different cases registered against them over their alleged involvement in creating law and order issues, arson and chaos following the arrest of the former prime minister Imran Khan.
Accused former Punjab governor Umar Sarfraz Cheema, former Provincial Minister Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed, Senator Ijaz Chaudhry, former Health Minister Dr Yasmeer Rashid and Khadija Shah, daughter of the former finance minister, were produced before the aforementioned court in separate cases.
However, the ATC judge extended the judicial remand until July 31 for accused Umar Sarfraz Cheema, Ijaz Chaudhry, Dr Yasmeen Rashid and Khadija Shah in the alleged case of creating law and order issues, arson, and chaos.
The police informed the court that the challan of the accused persons is being prepared and will be submitted to the
court soon.
The judge accepted the plea of the Investigation Officers and directed them to submit their challans as early as possible.
The ATC judge also extended the judicial remand of Dr Yasmeen Rashid over delivering hate speech and inciting people against institutions.
