PAC holds theatre play ‘Mera Ishq Vi Tu’

Play highlights issues surrounding drug abuse and addiction

Pakistan Council of the Arts (PAC) in collaboration with the Aims Association organised a theatre play titled ‘Mera Ishq Vi Tu’ based on the cure for drug affliction.

The play was written and directed by William Parvez while Zabar Sarhadhi, Ali Shan, Sofia Ali, Imran Rushdie, Rizwana Khan, Kashif Ali and Maimoona gracefully performed in the play. On the occasion, Naheed Manzoor and PAC Director Waqar Ahmed were invited as the chief guest.

Naheed Manzoor in regard to the play said drug dealers are actively dismantling and jeopardising the future prospects of millions of youth. These individuals manipulate vulnerable young people by falsely presenting drugs as a remedy for their problems.

Urgent and decisive action must be taken to eliminate this scourge, ensuring that the detrimental consequences of drug abuse do not afflict future generations, she added.
