MPA’s cousin loses life in tribal clash

Unidentified assailants shoot him dead on Indus Highway, near Kashmore-Kandhkot district

Unknown assailants riding on motorbikes shot dead a cousin of Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) MPA Sardar Mir Ghulam Abid Khan Sundrani on the Indus Highway in Ghouspur area in Kashmore-Kandhkot district on Tuesday. Slain Mir Noor Ilahi Khan Sundrani was shifted to the civil hospital Sukkur where succumbed to his injury. The dead body was returned to the family after postmortem. The incident’s FIR has not been lodged yet. The police believe that the incident was result of a personal enmity. A number of people have been killed in the blood feud between the Sawan and Sundrani tribes.

Prior to Noor Ilahi Sundrani’s murder, around eight days ago a prominent figure of Sawand tribe was slain in market while buying groceries with her daughter.

Police said that Ghaus Bux Sawand and his 11-year-old daughter Bushra were buying groceries from the shop of Ali Asghar Thaeem near Ghotki’s Kalma Chowk.
