Unidentified miscreants opened fire over a house of a Hindu businessman and a Hindu worship place adjacent to his house in the early hours of Sunday.
Police have lodged an FIR against the attackers, though they were unclear about the motive behind the attack whether it was to create panic among the Hindus across the province or to damage the worship place.
Police have also found an unexploded mortar near the site.
The incident has happened in the limits of Ghuspur police station of district Kashmore notorious for the presence of organised groups of dacoits.
"No one was injured in the attack," Kashmore SSP Irfan Sammo told The Express Tribune when asked about the situation on telephone.
"Police will investigate from all the angles and will trace the culprits very soon," he added.
Sammo said, "the motives behind the attack is unclear as it did not seem a direct attack on the worship place." Police also doubted that the house near the place belonged to a Hindu businessman.
"It could be a message for him," Samo said.
The Hindu businessman identified as Nard Bagri has already received calls and messages for ransom.
It is pertinent to mention here that it is not a temple but one-room and a hall surrounded by a boundary wall called 'Dera Sanwal Shah'.
An annual festival takes place.
"No one was inside the place when the attackers opened the fires," the senior police official explained.
At least 15 police officials have been deployed at the crime scene.
There are total 43 temples in Kashmor district and at least five police officials have been deployed at every temple after the threats issued by the dacoits following Seema Haider's case.
Seema, a local woman, has escaped to India and married a Hindu man.
The panic spread among the Hindu community while news circulated through the social media that the daciots have attacked the Hindu temple.
It is pertinent to mention here that different gangs have issued warnings to Indian government that Haider should be repatriated of Hindu temples will be attacked in Ghotki, Kashmor and other areas of Sindh province.
