Evergreen silver screen star Kajol was recently interviewed by Instant Bollywood, wherein she reacted to Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt's Tum Kya Mile from Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani. When asked about whether she missed performing dance numbers like Suraj Hua Madham in chiffon sarees, specifically in reference to Bhatt and Singh's song, the star candidly refuted the proposition.
In a manner true to herself, Kajol told the portal, "I don't miss wearing chiffon sarees at all. I have to say I don't. I like to wear them in warmer weather maybe and do it in warmer weather, not so cold. But yeah, I think [Alia and Ranveer] are beautiful. And I'd love to do a song with Shah Rukh Khan for sure."
Kajol's statement reflected her personal preference regarding wearing chiffon sarees - a Bollywood staple and one that has been parodied over the years, owing to its sheer absurdity. Karan Johar himself has taken digs at the trend time and again, with Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor trying to copy the same in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and failing. While the beauty of such sequences is a factor that cannot be overlooked, Kajol's frank response makes one wonder how the actors in sarees cope on sets.
Moreover, her desire to collaborate with Shah Rukh - her partner-in-crime as far as films are concerned - comes as great news. Easily one of Bollywood's most coveted and beloved pairs, Indian cinema fans would undoubtedly jump at the chance to see the duo romance each other in a song.
As far as Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani is concerned, the highly anticipated offering is set to hit the screens soon. Bollywood fans are eagerly awaiting a grand visual and musical extravaganza. As a KJo directorial, the expectations for the film are sky-high, especially after the release of two of its songs. While What Jhumka? is steadily climbing the charts, the first song from the film, Tum Kya Mile, pays homage to the iconic song and dance sequences of Yash Chopra's films and has received widespread acclaim.
The song showcases Alia and Ranveer's romantic chemistry amidst the snowy landscapes of Kashmir, with Alia donning chiffon sarees reminiscent of classic Bollywood aesthetics. As the release date of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani draws near, the buzz surrounding the film continues to build. Fans eagerly anticipate the magic that Karan, Ranveer, and Alia will create on the silver screen.
