Secretary of Livestock and Fisheries, Dr Akbar Ali Khan, has emphasized the efficient performance of officers and field staff in the fisheries and livestock department to foster the development of fisheries as a thriving industry in the province.

During a visit to Malakand Division, he specifically directed the concerned authorities to fulfill their responsibilities diligently, ensuring the sustainable growth of the fisheries sector and curbing illegal fishing practices.

Dr Akbar Ali Khan stressed the need for strict measures to control illegal hunting and protect the region’s aquatic resources. To further assess the situation, he inspected the hatcheries and government research centers of the fisheries department in Madain and Kalam, gaining valuable insights into their operations.
