Man allegedly strangles wife with brother’s help

Victim was four-months pregnant at time of her death

LODHRAN:

A man allegedly strangled his pregnant wife and reportedly hid the body in a drain with the help of his brother. Police registered a case and arrested the suspect’s brother, with raids underway to arrest the primary suspect.

According to police reports, Allah Divaya, a resident of Sherwala, filed a police complaint contending that his 20-year-old daughter Rukaiya Bibi had gone to her sister's house in Muzaffargarh ten days ago. Reportedly, she left her house after a dispute with her husband Asghar. After 6 days however, Rukaiya was sent home from Muzaffargarh.

On the night between 11 and 12 July, Asghar came to Allah Divaya and said that Rukaiya had left the house and gone somewhere.

The family led a search for her, but her body was found in the morning in the gutter behind Asghar's house.

Her hands were bound around her neck. Allah Divaya alleged that his son-in-law, Asghar, had suspected his daughter's character and killed Rukaiya with the help of his brother.

DSP Duniyapur Mian Abdul Rauf registered a case and police took the body into custody, shifting it to Makhdoom Ali Trauma Center for a postmortem.

The victim was four-months pregnant at the time of her death.

The police arrested Asghar's brother and raids are currently being conducted to arrest Asghar. The father of the deceased alleged that Asghar had asked his wife for jewelry and killed her when she did not give it to him.
