ISLAMABAD:

The Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has registered another case against Dr Uzma Khan, PTI chairman and deposed premier Imran Khan’s sister, in connection with an alleged land corruption scandal worth millions of rupees.

The case has been registered at ACE Jhang police station and two co-suspects, Naib Tehsildar Afzal Suliana and Patwari Aslam Khan, have been arrested.

According to the FIR, Dr Uzma purchased over 300 kanals of land in Chak Number 7/2 Thal Janoobi and Chak Number 11/2 Thal Janoobi Athara Hazri Jhang through three suspicious mutations, fraud and forgery.

The transfers of the land were made during 2019-2021.

The FIR maintained that the land was owned by the government.

It added that the mutations were made on bogus deeds by Dr Uzma using her influence of being a family member of the then prime minister.

The FIR mentioned the transfer of over 1,000 kanals of agricultural land in Jhang district.

It continued that these mutations were made through fradualtent means.
Two of the tranfers did not have any record in Colony Branch.

In addition, two mutations did not have any record in NTO branch.

The ACE spokesperson said his department had investigated the matter and found that the record of the purchased land was missing.

The spokesperson added that the relevant officers had also expressed their ignorance of this record on which the Anti-Corruption Faisalabad decided to take action against those responsible for this fraud.

The suspects allegedly “fraudulently” transferred 310 kanals of land in Jhang district.

The arrested suspects transferred the land “illegally” and later “deliberately” lost the original record of the land.

The spokesperson said when the ACE investigated the allegations of suspicious transfer of land by forgery, it was found that Dr Uzma and others were involved in the fraudulent practice.

It decided to register an FIR against Dr Uzma and eight other suspects.
The inquiry also revealed that the suspects had “fraudulently” transferred all the land to different people in the first step.

The spokesperson claimed that the land was later transferred to the name of Dr Uzma.

He continued that it was also an undeniable fact that Dr Uzma was not a resident of Jhang district and she just used her “influence to grab” the land.

The spokesperson said the ACE was making efforts to arrest the other suspects.
Dr Uzma and her husband were recently booked in a case of fraud for allegedly buying 5,261 kanals of land in the Layyah district at cheaper rates.

The FIR of that matter read that Dr Uzma had purchased 5,261 kanals in the Nawan Kot area of Layyah for Rs130 million through fraud and political pressure while its actual price was Rs6 billion.
