Nimra Bucha bags another international project, to star in Agatha Christie drama

The Pakistani artist will next be seen in Agatha Christie's BBC 'Murder Is Easy' adaptation

Pakistani star, Nimra Bucha, has added yet another feather to her cap as she has been roped in for yet another international project. The local artist will next be seen in Agatha Christie's Murder Is Easy adaptation, confirmed Variety. Bucha. who also starred in Polite Society and Ms. Marvel, will play Mrs Humbleby in the said project. 

Industry and Rye Lane star David Jonsson, Lord of the Rings lead Morfydd Clark, and Downton Abbey's Penelope Wilton have been announced as part of the cast for BBC and Britbox International's latest adaptation.

Filming has recently begun in Scotland, with Jonsson taking on the role of Fitzwilliam, the lead character. Set in 1954 England, the story follows Fitzwilliam's encounter with Miss Pinkerton (Wilton) on a train. She informs him about a killer on the loose in the peaceful village of Wychwood under Ashe. 

While the locals dismiss the deaths as accidents, Miss Pinkerton is certain otherwise. Unfortunately, she is found dead on her way to Scotland Yard. Convinced of the urgency to apprehend the killer before they strike again, Fitzwilliam embarks on a mission to unravel the truth.

In the upcoming two-part thriller series, Clark will portray the character Bridget, while Sinead Matthews (Hullraisers, The Crown) takes on the role of Miss Waynflete. Tom Riley (The Nevers, Ill Behaviour) is cast as Lord Whitfield, and Douglas Henshall (Shetland, In Plain Sight) will play Major Horton.

Additionally, Mathew Baynton (Ghosts, Wonka) joins the cast as Dr Thomas, Mark Bonnar (World on Fire, Guilt) as Reverend Humbleby, and Tamzin Outhwaite (The Tower, Ridley Road) as Mrs Pierce. Jon Pointing (Big Boys, Plebs) will portray Rivers, and Phoebe Licorish will make her screen debut as Rose.

The two-part series is being written by Siân Ejiwunmi-Le Berre, with Meenu Gaur (Zinda Bhaag, World on Fire) directing. Fifth Season will handle international sales for the series.
