Tragedy struck during a slap kabaddi match at a festival, as a player collapsed and passed away due to a heart attack.

The incident took place in Shah Shamsheer Wala Izafi Abadi in the Mamun Kanjan area.

The police registered a case against Barkat Ali, Shafqat Ali, Omer Hayat, Mohammad Ejaz, Mohammad Hussain, Faisal Nazeer, Mustansar Abbas, Zakir Hussain, Bashir Ahmed and Ghulam Mustafa Shakir who had allegedly organised the Baba Hindal Lajpal festival without official permission.

During the festival, the use of sound systems, firing into the air and a controversial slapping kabaddi event took place. It was during the match that player Zakir Hussain collapsed in the arena while receiving slaps on his face. The heart attack claimed his life on the spot.

A large number of spectators from neighboring villages had gathered to witness the unique tournament.

Local police arrived at the scene and took custody of the body to complete the required legal protocols before releasing it to the family.

Based on the statement of Constable Usman Ehsan, a case was registered.
