Actor Imran Ashraf’s former wife, Kiran Ashfaque took to Instagram to post a cryptic note on how she regrets changing herself for a man and vows that she will never make the same mistake again. The former couple parted ways last year after four years in matrimony.
On Friday, Ashfaque posted a picture of herself on the photo-sharing app and wrote, “I swear, by my life and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine. Do not change your personality or anything for anyone.” She continued, “I did it, and I regret it.”
In October 2022, Ashraf and his wife of four years, Asfaque announced separation. “With a heavy heart, we announce that we have mutually and respectfully decided to part ways,” their Instagram post read. “The primary concern for both of us will remain our son, Roham, for whom we will continue to be the best possible parents.”
The statement further read, “We request the fans, well-wishers and the media to support us during this difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Love and respect for all, Kiran and Imran."
In a Q&A session on Instagram, Ashfaque also revealed details about their divorce and her life post-split. She hinted at differences between them, emphasised the importance of not tolerating disrespect, and mentioned that red flags should be a signal to run. Ashfaque also addressed the tendency to blame women after divorce. “All that glitters is not gold,” she clarified after Ashraf’s fans blamed her, asserting that their divorce was not one-sided.
The duo, which tied the knot in 2018, are parents to a son, Roham. The speculations about dents in their relationship began when Asfaque changed her name on Instagram from Kiran Imran Ashraf to Kiran Ashfaque Hussein Dar. She later deleted all the pictures with Ranjha Ranjha Kardi actor as well. Ashfaque had often accompanied her former husband on several award shows and events.
