Hamza had kidney failure when he was very young, reveals sister Fazeela Abbasi

Actor's sister shared his struggle with glomerulonephritis

Renowned actor Hamza Ali Abbasi's sister, Dr Fazeela Abbasi, recently shared a previously undisclosed aspect of his life. Fazeela revealed that Hamza had been diagnosed with kidney failure during his childhood. In a candid podcast interview, she disclosed the details, highlighting Hamza's resilience and determination in the face of a challenging medical condition.

Talking about the diagnosis, she stated, "Not a lot of people know, but he had kidney failure when he was very young. He was quite young, I can't remember - I was in matric, and he's nine years younger...I wasn't a doctor then, but I still remember his diagnosis was glomerulonephritis; without any reason, his kidneys just started failing." Glomerulonephritis, the specific condition Hamza was diagnosed with, refers to acute inflammation of the kidneys often caused by an immune response.

Speaking further about the condition and her brother's nature, she said, "He was very young. He received a lot of steroid injections, God gave him a new life. He became a little chubby. However, he would mimic cartoons, act, make swords...He was a character. Right now, he is quite mature and sober, but he was so naughty."

Singing praises of her beloved brother shortly after, Fazeela said, "If I say one thing about my brother, he's very honest, he's very humble, he's very straightforward, and he's extremely soft-hearted. He's so soft-hearted that even I get irritated sometimes that, 'Excuse me?! You need to deal with this thing with an iron hand. Hamza, what is this?' He's a good person."

The short snippet highlighted the elder sister's love for her younger brother. It is worth mentioning that she has made it a point to stand up for her family due to this love, time and again. A recent online onslaught saw actor Naimal Khawar Abbasi, Hamza's wife, become a target of speculation. Many believed that Naimal had surgery done, and numerous onlookers pointed fingers at her dermatologist sister-in-law. 

She, however, released an official clarification from her business profile. It read, "Dr Fazeela Abbasi & DFA clinic is officially releasing the disclaimer for not performing any aesthetic or surgical procedure to address the recently arisen controversy regarding a particular surgery/procedure. This absurd criticism and speculation is unwarranted and totally uncalled for. It is really unfortunate and shocking how baseless and false assumptions are made and spread through social media to tarnish the image of people and invade their personal and professional lives."

The revelation about Hamza's past health struggle offers a glimpse into a different facet of the actor's life, showcasing his strength and determination in overcoming a challenging medical condition at a young age.
