ATC extends remand of Khadija Shah, others in Jinnah House attack case

Khadija, Alia, Sanam, and others are accused of attacking the Jinnah House following PTI chief Imran Khan’s arrest

LAHORE:

An Anti-Terrorism Court judge on Thursday extended the judicial remand until July 20 of Khadija Shah, Alia Hamza, Sanam Javed, and others allegedly involved in creating a law and order situation and attacking the Jinnah House in Lahore following the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The ATC judge also directed the concerned police officers to submit a challan of the case before the court.

The Sarwar Road police had registered a case against the accused women under different sections, including 7ATA.

It is pertinent to mention that the ATC Judge on July 3 had also extended 14 days judicial remand of accused Khadija Shah in a case of setting ablaze the Askari Towers and spreading chaos following former PM Imran Khan's arrest.

Jail authorities had produced the accused before the court after her judicial remand had expired. However, the ATC judge extended her judicial remand and directed police to submit a challan before the court.

On the other hand, Gulberg police had also registered a case against Khadija and others over similar charges.

In previous proceedings, the judge had turned down the request of the Investigation Officer (IO) to grant further physical remand of the accused and had sent her to jail on 14-days judicial remand.
