Funeral prayers offered for four martyred soldiers

Funeral prayers of four martyred soldiers of the Pakistan Army were offered on Thursday in their respective native towns of Kohat, Mianwali, Dera Ismail Khan, and Mardan, the military said in a statement.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Naib Subedar Sahib Khan, Naik Muhammad Ibrahim, and Sepoy Jehangir Khan embraced martyrdom in a suicide attack near North Waziristan district's Miran Shah, while Major Mian Abdullah Shah was martyred during an operation in Shahkas area of District Khyber.

The ISPR said that the martyrs were laid to rest with full military honours.

“Serving and retired officers/soldiers, relatives, and a large number of people from different segments of society attended the funerals,” it added.

The ISPR further said that the armed forces of Pakistan stand resolutely to eliminate the menace of terrorism at all costs.

“These sacrifices reaffirm our resolve and strengthen our faith in the fight against terrorism to provide a peaceful Pakistan to our future generations,” it added.
