Four law enforcers martyred in Balochistan grenade attack

CM, governor express solidarity with families of martyrs, pray for recovery of injured officials

Three policemen and one Frontier Corps (FC) official were martyred after terrorists attacked an FC check post in Dhana Sar, Balochistan with hand grenades, it was reported on Sunday.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo condemned the attack and said that terrorists “cannot demoralise the security forces with cowardly acts”, adding that “the sacrifices of the security forces are a beacon for the nation”.

He also said that law enforcement agencies ensure the country's security with firm determination and courage. “The nation stands with its security forces to thwart the evil intentions of anti-national elements,” Bizenjo stated.

The chief minister also expressed complete solidarity with the martyrs' families and extended his best wishes for the recovery of the injured officials.

Governor condemns attack

Balochistan Governor Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar also strongly condemned the hand grenade attack on the security forces check post at Dahanasar. He expressed deep grief over the martyrdom of security personnel.

In his condemnation statement, he said that all available resources should be used to bring those who are spreading fear and terror in the society to sabotage the peaceful situation in the province to justice.

“We have to show national unity and consensus to thwart the evil intentions of terrorists and saboteurs,” he said.

Governor Balochistan prayed for the departed souls' eternal peace and for courage and strength for bereaved families of martyrs to bear the losses with fortitude and the speedy recovery of the injured.

A day earlier, unknown miscreants lobbed a hand grenade at the Civil Lines police station in Quetta. Police sources said one policeman injured in the attack has been transferred to a nearby hospital. The officer is said to be out of danger.

The blast left the windows of the police station shattered, but the attackers escaped unhurt from the spot.

Senior police officials reached the spot as an investigation into the incident was initiated.
