KARACHI:

The Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has expressed deep concern over a recent incident of harassment and disruption that took place during a Sikh community's religious gathering at a Gurdwara in Sukkur.

According to an official statement issued on Saturday, preliminary investigations conducted by SHRC Board Member Sukhdev Hemnani revealed that some individuals allegedly disrupted the religious gathering on June 29 and intimidated the devotees, forcing them to halt their prayers.

The incident is in direct violation of Article 20 of the Constitution of Pakistan, which guarantees freedom to profess, practice, and propagate religion, as well as the establishment and management of religious institutions.
