Leader of snatchers gang netted

Saddar SHO along with his team launched an investigation with the help of the latest technology

HARIPUR:

Police claimed to have arrested the leader of a snatchers gang from whose possession the snatched amount of Rs77,500 and the weapon used in the crime was recovered.

Police sources said an incident of street snatching took place on June 20 near a girls' college on Sarai Naimat Khan Road within the limits of Saddar police station in which armed robbers deprived a citizen of cash at gunpoint.

On the report of the complainant, a case was registered under sections 392 [punishment for robbery] and 34 [acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention] of the Pakistan Penal Code against unidentified suspects.

Haripur DPO Muhammad Umar Khan took notice of the incident and ordered DSP Saddar Circle Umar Hayat and SHO Saddar Police Station Amir Khan to trace the accused involved in the incident and recover the stolen money.

Acting on the instructions, the Saddar SHO along with his team launched an investigation with the help of the latest technology.
