Terror commander among 3 killed in Bajaur IBO

An exchange of fire broke out during an intelligence-based operation, weapons and ammunition recovered: ISPR

The security forces killed three active terrorists, including their commander Shafi, during an intelligence based operation (IBO) in the general area of Inayat Qilla of Bajaur district on Wednesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the military, during the IBO, an intense exchange of fire took place between the security forces and the terrorists.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in terrorist activities against the security forces as well as killing of innocent citizens, the ISPR said.

“The sanitisation of the area was carried out to eliminate any terrorists found over there. Locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism,” the ISPR added.

Separately, one terrorist was killed and three others sustained injuries in an intense exchange of fire during an IBO in the general area of Tirah in Khyber district on Tuesday, the ISPR said.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorist, it said, adding that sanitisation of the area was carried out. "The security forces are determined to root out the menace of terrorism from the country," the ISPR said.
