PMDC starts preparations for MDCAT

Provinces directed to nominate admitting universities, list of cities where this year’s test would be conducted

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) asked the provinces on Monday to nominate the admitting universities and the list of cities where this year’s Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) would be conducted.

The PMDC wrote letters to all the provincial health secretaries in the wake of its meeting on June 4, in which it decided to conduct MDCAT-2023 on August 27, at national level through the provincial public sector admitting universities.

According to a statement, the PMDC would open the MDCAT-2023 registration portal in the first week of July for 15 days. The nomination would enable the university in timely preparation of question paper, arrangement of venues, appointment of staff, it added.

The statement said that the PMDC had adopted the last year MDCAT syllabus and had uploaded it on the PMDC website, and added that a new board was yet to be constituted by federal government.
