Another citizen of the metropolitan city was slain by blood thirsty robbers who pull the trigger on slightest reluctance of the victims in handing over their valuables.
Irfan Naseem Ahmed, 40, married and father of two children, was shot dead by robbers who had barged into his home in the Zaman Town area of Korangi. Irfan, a flower seller by profession, is the 68th person killed during armed robberies and snatchings in the port city during the year so far.
Zaman Town Police Station acting SHO Sub Inspector Younus said Irfan was living with his younger brother Adnan in the house. Three armed robbers entered the house at 6am and took people in the house hostage.
The suspects were fleeing after looting cash, gold ornaments and other valuables, when Irfan's younger brother Adnan, residing on the second floor hit a robber with pot due to which the bag of stolen goods fell from the robber hands. At the same time, the deceased Irfan, who was residing on the ground floor of the house, tried to overpower the robber. However, the other two suspects shot and killed Irfan and escaped.
