MULTAN:

A woman, her daughter and a sister were allegedly murdered in their house by unidentified miscreants in Mumtazabad, police said.

They said the bodies had been three days old when police retrieved them.

The deceased were identified as Shamshad Bibi, her sister Nasreen and daughter Samia. Asma Bibi, second daughter of deceased Shamshad Bibi, who lived in Rahim Yar Khan, told the police that she had been trying to contact her mother by phone for the last several days but to no avail.

This was quiet a worrisome situation for Asma who had had no other choice but to travel to Multan herself to find out what had transpired.

When Asma arrived at her kin’s house, she found the main door locked from inside. When nobody responded, Asma summoned help from the people in the neighborhood who jumped over the wall and into the house where they found her mother, aunt and sister lying dead.

Police were immediately informed about the incident. They arrived at the crime scene and had the bodies shifted to the Nishtar Hospital for the postmortem examination.

It was being suspected that the three women had been poisoned to death. The police have opened an investigation. Last month four of a family had been found slaughtered in Bahawalpur.

The quadruple murder had been reported in Yazman.

Among the victims were two women and a child. While the entire area was filled with grief, the IG of Punjab had taken notice of the incident and ordered immediate arrest of the accused. A Rescue 1122 control room had received a call from Chak 102/DB reporting four bodies in a house and a motorcycle burning outside.

As soon as the incident was reported, rescue teams and police reached the scene. The victims were identified as Rashid, 45-year-old Shazia Bibi, 15-year-old Abdul Rehman and 55-year-old Rahmat Bibi. All four victims’ throats had been slit.
