Over the years, we have learnt many things about Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani Nobel Peace Prize Laureate we are all so proud of. We have learnt that she loves television and she especially adores comedy – Ted Lasso being her favourite, considering his moustache reminds her of her father’s. We have learnt that in her spare time, Malala loves nothing more than tucking into a Jamaican curry while watching Rick and Morty.
What’s more? When I Am Malala came out, we learnt that the activist read Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight when she was only 10. The books proved to have such an influence on both her and her friend that they “longed to be vampires”. But more recently we have come to learn that Malala is a hardcore Never Have I Ever fan.
Back in 2018, Malala left everyone in awe after a video of her engaging in a game of Never Have I Ever sent shockwaves across the internet. Now, she has shared a note expressing her feelings about the show Never Have I Ever on social media. Taking to her Instagram Stories, Malala wrote about the aftertaste of the coming-of-age, comedy drama that she has been following. “Never Have I Ever… finished a whole season in one evening,” she declared. “Wiping away tears that this show is over,” she added with a crying emoji.
The fourth and final season for Never Have I Ever released on June 8, 2023. The series has been described as a watershed moment for South Asian representation in Hollywood and has been praised for breaking Asian stereotypes.
