‘China-Eurasia Expo 2011 promote trade’

President Zardari to be chief guest at inaugural cultural performance.

BEIJING: Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Masood Khan on Monday said that China-Eurasia Expo 2011 would promote trade and economic relations between China, Europe and Asian countries. “President Asif Ali Zardari will be the chief guest at the inaugural cultural performance. He will also be a key speaker at China-Eurasia Forum on Economic Development and Cooperation,” Ambassador Khan said.

He said that President Zardari’s visit would be a good occasion to devise a strategy to steer the entire region towards economic development and enhanced economic connectivity. He said that nine ministerial forums would discuss issues like agriculture, tourism, media, culture and finance. Ambassador Khan said that President Zardari would use the platform of China-Eurasia Expo 2011 to share his vision about enhanced connectivity between Pakistan and China to shorten trade and travel distances between the Gulf and China by establishing corridors passing through Pakistan.

President Zardari will also have a meeting with Executive Vice Premier Li Keqiang, Khan said. He said that the two sides would review the entire gamut of bilateral relations with a sharp focus on the dividends of Expo 2011 for Pakistan and China.
