The Punjab police’s performance can be gauged by the arrests it made in connection with the attacks on Jinnah House and other sensitive installations in the last 30 days.
Riots broke out in most of the cities across the country, mainly in Punjab, following the arrest of PTI chief Imran Khan from the premises of the Islamabad High Court by the Rangers personnel in a graft case on May 9.
According to important data compiled by The Express Tribune, only 38% of the miscreants who vandalised the Jinnah House could be arrested and 54% of those who entered the premises could be identified while only 28% of those who rioted outside the Jinnah House could be caught.
Similarly, only 38% of the miscreants who vandalised the General Headquarters, Rawalpindi were rounded up, 39% of the accused who stormed the ISI office in Faisalabad were caught, and only 39% of the miscreants who rioted at Gujranwala Cantt were arrested.
Moreover, 66 per cent of those who were involved in the PAF base Mianwali arson attack were nabbed while only 36 per cent of those who were involved in rioting at six important installations were arrested.
