Football: Former AFC chief slams bribery probe

KUALA LUMPUR: Ousted Asian Football Confederation (AFC) chief Mohamed bin Hammam has accused Fifa of threatening Caribbean football officials to admit that he offered bribes in the lead-up to his life ban. Hammam was sanctioned last month but has denied the charges and is appealing the ban. In a posting on his blog, Hammam published a copy of a letter dated July 25, purportedly from Fifa Secretary General Jerome Valcke, asking Caribbean Football Union members to come forward 'with all relevant information' within two days or 'be subject to the full range of sanctions'. Hammam did not say how he obtained the document.
