KARACHI:

Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) Malir Zone Assistant Director Azhar Hussain's tortured body was discovered from Edhi morgue, Sohrab Goth, a night after he went missing.

Hussain, a resident of Alfalah Society was allegedly killed during quarrel with his second wife's sister and her husband.

The deceased had two wives. The brother of the second wife wanted to transfer the entire assets of Hussain to his sister, instead of equal distribution between the two wives.

"Hussain's body was found in Edhi mortuary on Monday night, which was kept by his second wife's brother on the morning of June 4 who informed the mortuary people that the death of the deceased was due to natural causes," Shoaib, the brother of his first wife said this while talking to The Express Tribune.

Hussain left home on the night of June 3 after telling his daughter that he was going to meet his friends, after which he went missing.

After not coming home all night, the daughter called her paternal uncle Muzaffar Hussain and told him that papa has not come home for the whole night and his mobile phone is also switched off, after which the family searched him everywhere but all in vain.

Talking to The Express Tribune, Muzaffar said, he reached Edhi morgue in search of his brother on the night of June 5 and checked unidentified bodies. "I noticed a body, its shroud was slightly removed and recognised my brother's shirt," Mazhar said.

The deceased's brother said that there were marks of torture on the body and cigarette burns on hands.
