Four die in armed tribal clash

All victims said to belong to same clan

Four people belonging to the Bannu tribe were killed during an armed clash with the Dulani tribe in Rojhan. Recently, MNA Sardar Riaz Mahmood Khan Mazari had made peace between the two tribes.

However, the peace could not last long. The recent clash started with the killing of a man, Ibrahim Bannu, who was standing at a medical store near the Rojhan City Municipal Committee.

Ibrahim was allegedly shot dead by members of the Dulani tribe. After the incident, tension between the two tribes flared up again.

According to the sources, there was an exchange of fire between the Bannu and Dulani tribes in which four people died.

A police spokesman said that the cause behind the outbreak of hostility between the two tribes was an incident of murder.

He said that teams had been formed by police to arrest the accused.

Taking notice of the incident, the IGP of Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has sought a report from the Regional Police Officer of Dera Ghazi Khan.

The Regional Police Officer of Dera Ghazi Khan, Captain (Retd.) Sajjad Hasan Khan, himself visited the scene of the clash.

The IGP had also directed the DPO of Rajanpur to arrest the culprits immediately and to maintain the law and order situation.

He issued orders to form special teams to arrest the criminals as soon as possible.

A meeting was held at Circle Office in Rojhan. In the meeting, the overall law and order situation in Rojhan and Kutch was reviewed. In the meeting, DPO Rajanpur was ordered to start a crackdown on the elements disturbing the law and order situation in Rojhan and Kutch area.

He said that every effort should be made to punish the accused involved in the incident.

After inspecting the site of the incident, a meeting was held in SDPO office Rojhan under the chairmanship of RPO. DPO of Rajanpur, SDPO Rojhan and other officers participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, the RPO reviewed the overall law and order situation in Rojhan and Kutch area and the steps taken by the police to arrest the culprits. The RPO directed the police to use traditional methods as well as modern scientific methods to arrest the criminals.

The RPO said that such incidents were not tolerable in any case. The criminals involved in the incident did not deserve any concession, and police would leave no stone unturned in getting the suspects brought to justice.

In the light of the orders of the RPO, the area had been cordoned off for immediate arrest of the criminals involved in the incident.
