ISLAMABAD:

The Ministry of Industries and Production has unveiled a ground-breaking development project aimed at enhancing the productivity of the industrial, manufacturing, services, and educational sectors in the country. The initiative, led by the National Productivity Organisation (NPO), marks the first-ever developmental program funded by the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP), focusing on promoting sustainable national productivity and improving competitiveness.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, NPO CEO, Muhammad Alamgir Chaudhry emphasised the significance of this productivity movement. He stated that NPO would train stakeholders to increase productivity and transform them into productivity specialists within their respective sectors. Notably, NPO has been granted accreditation as a certification body by the Asian Productivity Organisation (APO) in Japan for a period of four years.

Chaudhry added that the government is committed to making Pakistan economically productive and globally competitive by fostering an export-driven economy through training initiatives and the production of productivity specialists. To date, over ten thousand individuals, including students from schools and technical institutes, have received education and awareness sessions on the concept of productivity across Pakistan.

Highlighting the progress made, Chaudhry mentioned that more than six hundred targeted industrial workers have been trained by renowned productivity experts in various productivity tools and techniques. Additionally, NPO has developed two productivity modules that have been shared with the NCC and NAVTTC for inclusion in their curricula, training programs, and certification initiatives.
