Ahmed is a highly skilled wicketkeeper-batsman and a prominent member of the Pakistani national cricket team. He has served as the captain of the team across all formats. The cricketer currently represents the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League.
Notably, he led Pakistan to a remarkable victory in the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy, where they triumphed over their arch-rivals India in the final. Furthermore, Ahmed had previously showcased his leadership abilities by guiding the Pakistan under-19 team to win the 2006 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, where they also emerged victorious against India in the final.
Ali, on the other hand, played a crucial role in Pakistan's triumph in the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy, where he was named the player of the tournament for his exceptional performance, taking thirteen wickets. He holds the record for being the quickest Pakistani bowler to reach 50 wickets in ODIs. He was also among the thirty-three players awarded a central contract by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the 2018-19 season
The bond between the two players clearly extends beyond the cricket field. They have often been seen supporting and encouraging each other during matches, displaying a strong sense of camaraderie.
